well, its starting to make sense to me now. i do apreciate the help. i really never paid attention to this before because i wasnt looking for new wheels and tires on my car until i needed them.
i was all about performance and now i need traction. the tires and wheels i have now will do me just fine. the grip i get is awesome. i can spin them once to get them hot(burnout for like 5 seconds) and they are so sticky...i dont brake them loose on my launch or when i shift into second like my old tires did.

all in all - thanks for answering my question and helping me out
