California Smog passes KA24DE-T?

Unfortunately, i live in California and i had plans to put in the RB20 in my 240 but i found out it was illegal. Then, i decide to put a turbo kit on my 240 but then someone told me recently that that also wont pass smog. Is this true?

The turbo kit needs to be CARB legal, if its not then you wont pass the visual test. Also if you get pulled over and you dont have a CARB certificate for the turbo kit, you will get fined and sent to the refree.

Yes...California emissions sucks ***

oh i see carb legal....every turbo kit i've seen on websites, they dont mention anything about it being carb legal. Is there anyway i can find out besides taking a risk and just buying the kit and see if it passes. The particular kit im currently interested in is the www.nsport.com one. It will be awhile before i can get it but this kit seems like the best. It doesn't say anything about carb legal. Thanks for the reply

yea California emissions suck ***

Try emailing the company, they SHOULD know if its CARB legal. And no problem

yeah this sucks im moving back to california next year, and have a built ka-t..........which needs to go back to stock/ bolt on ka so i can pass smog, and im just thinking about leaving it NA and doing other little things to it....only thing that sucks is that highspeed drifting (most tracks in cali have mostly high speed corners) is easier with a lot of power.........165-180hp even in a gutted 240sx isnt a lot of power........oh well................
