Heating Problems

Basically the past few weeks every now and then (Usually while racing around) the car would over heat and start steaming and bubbling out of the overfill tank for the radiator...Id let it sit for a while and drive around with no problems after that..Well i replaced my radiator, thermostat, and radiator cap hoping this would cure the problem....Well now the car overheats no matter what..If i start it up even at idle the temp needle will climb up to the H on the guage...The thermostat is opening but i duno. I was reading other threads and im not seeing white smoke, my oil looks great, and theres no oily stuff in the coolant so i dont think its a head gasket...Does it sound like the water pump? Or possibly ignition timing (i dont know how that could cause it but a friend mentioned it to me)...So what do you guys think it is? Im running out of options and money so any thoughts??

PS..Im running a greddy v-spl fmic, koyo radiator w/ nismo thermostat, and dual electric fans...

Just because there is no fluid transfers, does not mean that you do not have a head gasket leak. You can have a leak just at the coolant jacket.

Are you having to add any coolant? What is your antifreeze-water mix? Too much antifreeze, over 50% can run you hot.

What kind of temp gauge are you using? Does it show a number in * or is it H/C? Do you know what the actual temp. number is?

What about an oil cooler? Are you ruuning one?

try bleeding the system i had cooling problems also after i put a newer motor in. the bleeder screw is on the coolant outlet right to the right side of the throttle body. take that out and run the engine and let it run with that open until it starts to flow out of the hole then plug it up. then you know there is no air in your system, thats what my problem was it sounds just like what your dealing with

Well i bled the **** out of it today....for like a good two hours of running the car bleeding the radiator and 4 gallons of coolant (HUGE waste of money) ...It drives for about 10 minutes then the ***cer overheats again...im so pissed...

The coolants flowing so i mean that means the pump is working right?

I dont know what to do anymore...

Koyo factory replacement, i think the problems solved now..pretty sure the head gaskets gone...Been through 7-8 gallons of fluid and no leaking out the radiator so its gotta be the gasket + once it heats up the resvoir bubbles nonstop..Thanks for the hep though

man, if iHad a dime for every time a KA blew a headgasket... i`ve been through it twice in 6 months, myself. Can`t overstate the value of proper cooling equipment and a good (metal, for turbo) headgasket, specially on a KA.
