Turbos? which brand to buy

There r so many turbo brands to buy..I mean u can buy a Garret gt28rs for just the turbo for about $1000, but you can go on ebay and find a gt28rs with a manifold for $500 with a yr warrenty. I mean a turbo is a turbo right? or wrong? Just wondering If anybody can tell me a lil more that would be great..I mean would you pay an extra $500 for the name or what?? Thanks

Don't ever buy an eBay brand turbo.

If you search around here, you'll hear horrid stories of it being glued together and such.

There are plenty of brands (Greddy, ApexI, HKS..) but you should never pay less than $1,000 for a new turbo, unless you have hookups.

It's like buying a eMachine Computer Vs. HP or other high end brand.

You get the point.

Always remember that! nothing good comes cheap when it comes to cars, unless its broken.......lol

I would say only buy these brand name turbos

HKS.........My Fav. Turbos
Greddy
Apexi
Garret

And stay away from SSA turbos or XSPower Turbos or any other E-Gay Non Name Brand turbos..........

There is a thread in KA-T.Org about some guy that bought a E-Bay turbo and it was held together by superglue!! I was like WTF, but he showed pics of it, and it really was held together by glue.....ill find the Link and post it later on tonight.

HP is "high-end"? Wow ...no, no, no, it's more like eMachine vs IBM.
