I don't know about you but a air saw, cutting wheel, die grinder works faster than stripping, crimping, soldering, heat shrinking, sheathing, and taping.

I never said the rb harness was bolt in I said if you wanted to get into semantics none of these swaps are a perfect fit.
chill pill.

Just for the purposes of entertaining Jynx et al, what if I sucked at power tools... but was an electrician by trade?

BTW after everything in here has been said, I agree that RB > SR overall. SR seems to be overhyped because of the whole drift thing.

If you keep telling peopel SRs are better, then the RB prices will stay down long enough until I get mine!

Wiring for RB25 , i got few info out from Night7racing.com.

"How difficult is the RB25DET to wire?
When I wired my car, I kept my 240SX interior harness (runs dash, headlights, tail lights, etc...) and got rid of the KA engine harness and ECU. I replaced that harness with the engine harness and ECU from the RB25DET. I then had to extend wires for the Gauge cluster and Ignition so that they would reach the LHD side of the car. I then integrated 5 wires from each of the harnesses ignition systems and made a power terminal where both harnesses were attached at the front of the car so that they would each receive power."

Is it true? Sound pretty easy accroding to this. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Just my 2 cents....
SR<<<(lighter than KA) More aftermarket parts,no custom B.S,except wiring, but it can be done for like $100 or so,nothing to complain about!
RB20/25<<<(heavier than KA,SR) Not near the aftermarket support!( So I have seen) Custom this, custom that, pain in the ***,even with f clip, still not perfect fitment!
SR20DET< f clip w/ i/c & piping,just wire up and done!

So theoretically for a drift only (not drag) setup SR > RB? Or is this really more of a preference thing?

well the only reason why a majority of the Silvia's in Japan run SR is because it came with the car. There's nothing wrong with drifting with an RB, as Izumida (R32) does it often. As for if the SR is "better", I don't see engine type as being more important than how it's tuned... remember that dude @ D1 (if you were there) drifting in some Daihatsu with like 150-160hp or something...

I totally agree here... I think the one point that some people seem to miss here in the SR vs. RB debate is that the car was designed to use an SR in the first place. I don't care if the chassis was based on Skyline components, it's still a Silvia chassis and it was designed WITH THE SR as the engine to be put in it from the factory. It's not, "use this part from that car and turn that part upside down from this car and get these 'adapter parts' from this manufacturer and cut this part off of your car and voila - 'drop-in RB' is simple!" thing.
