car runs too rich

all right i am kinda new to drifting. i watch my friends do it and i watch it on tv. i just got my 91 240 about 4 months ago. i have already had to rebuild the head because of bad overheating. now i have the problem where my car won't start and i can smell gas. my dad's friend is a mechanic and he looked at it and told me it was flooding the engine when i try and crank it. in order to get it started i have to hold the pedal to the floor. if anyone has had this problem and knows what is wrong with it i would greatly appreciate it.

1991 240sx ka24de no mods yet

another thing i noticed that a hose coming from my intak that leads to the top of my engine has a big crack at the top of it. do you reckin that i can get the shop that did my head work to do all that for free if they did screw it up.
