newbie...help!....NEED 240sx

hey guys,

i'm totally new to 240sx but i want to get involved . I have a 240sx in mind, its a 1991 hatchback (don't even know what trim...just know its a hatch). It has 114,000 miles with no radio, no power mirrors, no power window, no lighter, two tires bad (need replacement but not immediately) , everything else seems fine but im gonn have mechanic check it out.... for 1300 which i can maybe bring down to 1000. Can anyone tell me a little about this particular model car, and if this is a good deal?

i own a 1999 altima and just want a 240sx so badly becuase it so damn cheap to get an old one and it has so much potential. Give me some info on this car...wat the heck is it...wats a s13 s14.....wat silvia??...things i need to know about this model??

I know you're laughing at my questions but you've got to start somewhere

Its an SE. Xe's are coupes. A thousand sounds more than reasonable. Is it manual or automatic. S13 is a 240 from the years 89-94 S14 95-96 (Zenki) S14 97-98 (Kouki) And Silvia is the Japanese version of the car. BTW you should do a search for any other questions you got search can solve most of your problems.

Got any pics?

Honestly, it doesn't take very long to get all this information.

S13 and S14 are the chassis codes for the 240sx. TheBull just told you which is which. Here is a link to more chassis codes:

http://www.driftcentral.com/index.php?pid=chassiscodes

Check this site for brief information about the car, it's a pretty good start:

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/used/index.cfm

And check these sites for average prices people like to shoot for:

http://www.ebaymotors.com/
http://www.cars.com/
http://www.autotrader.com/

For $1000, you'll probably have to pump in some cash to get it in good condition, but it would be a great project car if it hasn't been in any wrecks since you have a nice daily driver.

Did not know that thanks for that tidbit of info.

Maybe they were removed by previous owner for some crazy reason.
