What vehicle would you go with?

Considering 3 cars:
1. Toyota Supra TT & Non-Turbo (1994-1998)
2. Nissan 300ZX TT & Non-Turbo (1990-1996)
3. Nissan 240SX SE (1997-1998)

> I would only perform simple mods to the 300zx & Supra (intake, exhaust, handling, etc...)
> I would go all out with the 240
> I am mainly concerned with mechanical reliability, I don't want to be fixing the auto every3 months. Want a daily driver.
> I have a 1990 240 le in perfect mech. con. I guess I could store the 1990 240 incase of repairs if I went with one of the above mentioned.
I would like to know what you experts think.

all good choices. a friend of mine has a 440hp 300z and i would recommend against that. those cars are way too heavy. a light quick car is much more fun. make up your own mind, but that's my input

No matter what I go with I want:
1. reliability
2. handling
3. Torque, low to mid. range
3. The power will come, I like the BMW principle: low end power and fantastic handling

okay, here's what ur looking at:

1. Supra TT:
- 3445 lbs
- TT 3.0L I6

2. 300ZX TT:
- 3502 lbs
- TT 3.0L V6

3. 240SX
- 2862lbs (stock)
- N/A 2.4L I4

from the looks of things, i'd say it might be easier to bring the 240 up to the power range of the 300 and the Supra, then to get cars that weigh ~600lbs heavier to corner like a 240. u want that low end torque? swap in an RB25DET. from a reliability standpoint, i haven't heard too much about the Supra. i have, however, heard a few bad things about the 300ZX. and the 240, what can i say, it's pretty much rock solid. i dunno, i'd be more than happy w/either one of those. but anyhow, i hope i have provided some kind of insight.

Here is a wild card: What about a 2000 BMW 323 / 328 Ci?

BMW cars are always reliable, if you can afford a 3 series, go for it. They arent exactly the best cars to mod, but you can have lots of fun with them

I just worry that around 100k things are gonna stop working and the bill will strike a dagger in my pocket book.

Try goin to a BMW site/forums, ask around how long the engines last and etc. I know the S14, Z32 and Supra are all good cars even after the 100k mark.

i find the 240 to be a very reliable car, i've had to change a few parts ie starter, alternator, but that's cause i have a 89 i well taken care of 97 or 98 should be very reliable

well no matter waht car you get, how you drive it depends on the reliability. i've seen cars that were raggedy at 40k just b/c of abuse.

i've heard a few bad things about the 300zx, but i'm kinda new to all this. i have a 240 with a sr20det swap, and it's suits me PERFECT>
