The Squeaking Car!

Hi Guys!

I have a problem, everytime I get into my car I'm embarrassed cause my car squeaks. It happens when I am in any gear going any speed. It gets a little louder when I hit the brakes. I'm not very good when it comes to cars and don't know what to look for, so can you guys help me out?

Thanks

get your brakes checked, it's most likely that your brake pads are worn.

I would say brake pads, could possibly your wheel bearings also. Check your pads first....

LiL Update,

(BTW) Thanks for the input guys.

I checked the front brakes a few days ago and man they were pretty bad. I mean the metal piece that shows when to change the brakes was almost touching the rotor. I replaced the brakes and rotors on both sides and my car is alot quieter! Although I still hear a very faint squeak coming from one of the brakes not very loud but still audiable. I know the brakes have to be worn in but its already been about 4-5 days since I changed them I hope the squeaking stops altogether. Did I miss something when I changed these parts was I supposed to get brakes with the shims? I dunno I'm on a VERY tight budget so I got the cheapest brakes I could get from Lordco and put them on with my rotors cant go wrong when 2 front brakes and 2 front rotors cost $70 with tax!

Well at least the brakes and rotors are done. I can tell the guy that had this car before me didnt know too much about cars. Maybe he just didn't care. Well either way i'm gonna try to baby this car as much as I can fix it up untill its mechanically sound then invest in some rims, exhaust, and possibly a body kit. (crosses fingers)

you may need to get ure rotors shaved...after a while they start to warp and thats wut causes some squeaking...or at least thats wut the honda guy told me when my accord was squeaking after i changed the brake pads...
