WOW megan racing can go and die
I mean really cmon putting on a set of Megans is like saying I'll buy a Hyandai. (That will never happen)
(If you don't understand the referencing Hyandai, and Megan have one thing in common there parts are from Korea and China.)LOL

I hate those cars. But, i'm in the market for coilovers now, and I need to decide what to get. I don't want to make another stupid thread about what to buy. But, i'm going to be doing a lot of daily driving, but on decent roads, with the occasional drift session.

it's a shame to have a company with decent quality parts for a cheap price to have it be hindered by something like customer service. But then again, this is the first i ever heard about something like this. Let's not let rumors fly. 1 customer is bound to be unhappy with something whether it be product, customer service or what not.

Seriously though, you are right in pointing out that there's always one customer who's bound to be unhappy, and if you're talking about a recognized and ESTABLISHED company who's reputation has been built up over time, then chances are that that unhappy customer is a rare case that got a "lemon" product.
However, Megan is relatively new, and IMO they seemed to get a good start on getting their products out to the market - but a bad start in terms of quality, fitment, and (as the original thread poster stated) customer service.
I have a few Megan Racing gauges in my car. They came with everything stated in the packaging, they all work properly, and the instructions were complete enough to understand.
Then there's the strut bars which I've installed/seen on other cars, and they're super soft and generic (that cool "C-Pillar" bar that a lot of people jumped on before, it's basically two pivot ends and a center bar that is normally used for a Honda application front strut bar). I never got one because of how flimsy it really is.
Then there's the "KA24DE" downpipe that had a hanger brace pointed in the wrong direction. It was also missing gaskets and hardware. The bag was there - just not the hardware (?) I didn't use it for my car, I sold it.
Then there's the first run of coilovers (now renamed "street" version) which were squeaky out of the box, and the dampening, no matter how you ajust it, doesn't feel 'balanced' from left to right.
If this was a big name, well known company like TEIN or HKS with these problems, then there's cause to raise an eyebrow or two. However we are talking about Megan Racing - a Chinese company that hasn't been around for more than 5 years and yet their lineup of parts from the get-go was all quote/unquote "performance parts". $10 strut bars? $500 coilovers? $150 catback exhausts? And then if something goes wrong people throw a fit... not thinking that their high expectations for "performance" is rarely associated with a low-cost product.
Now I know the original poster also complained about customer service, and this to me is one of the main criteria's for shopping aftermarket parts. For me, it's a proven reputation and solid customer service that makes me feel at ease when buying something - especially when I'm shelling out over $1000 for coilovers. Before I finally bought my Flex, I had already talked (through phone and Email) to TEIN representatives many times, and they were quick to respond and very detailed with giving me the information I needed to select a suspension. The same goes for RS-R. The same goes for HKS.
Too bad Megan Racing doesn't have that type of philosophy... they will probably be always known as an "off-brand" who'll never become bigtime and gain respect of their customers - something that smaller, less product-saturated companies like Kazama or even SPL have done.
