'96 240sx SE.
ok just got my 240 a week or so ago.. did all the maintenance and whatnot.
my check engine light is on, and i go to auto zone to have the code read.
he hooks the connectors up and OBDII throws no codes.. w/e, i take the car home, and i get the code from the ECM by doing the screw-turn on the mode selector.
the code that it flashes to me on the dash is 7-5-9-3 .
i can't find anywhere on my other 240 forum, or google that tells me wtf this code means. anybody here ever gotten this code, or can tell me what i should do now?
my other question is if i want to adjust/check my timing, i have to unplug the TPS harness, then use the timing light, correct? does anyone have a picture of the TPS harness, i can't find pictures of it or it's direct location anywhere
it's a '96 240sx SE btw
the transmission is auto (unfortunately.. i plan to change that)
and when the car is in DRIVE or REVERSE, it idles at ~500 RPMs
and feels like it wants to stall out.
but in PARK or NEUTRAL it goes up to ~1000 RPMs
what's the deal?

sorry i have to say this, first off your right 240's are sex 240sex,awesome the tps is on the throttle body oppisite side of the throttle cable, the conector is tricky to get off i think if you slip a small screwdriver under the metal clip it comes off then again its been a while, at autozone was it an actron scanner? those seem to pick up missed codes on s-14's when i use them, but my book dosent show those numbers, as for the transmission it sounds like the trans is putting to much of a load on the engine but i dont work with automatics so sorry but i cant help there, best of luck to yea, sorry if i left somthing out
