Air Conditioner??

Hi all,

I bought a rechrge kit for my AC, but the AC does not turn on when I hit the button. The little bulb in the button does'nt even light up. I checked the fuse and its ok. The manual for the recharge kit say to turn on AC to charge it. Anyone know what else to check.

thanks

maybe the freon level is too low. I know that in my mom's maxima thats what it did. Try turning the fan down to like 1 or 2. If its on 4 and low on freon it wont kick on. Mine does that. Mine turns on for like a min then shuts off if you put it on 4, it needs some more r-12. Suprisingly it still works after 14 years.

you have a low pressre switch on top of your dryer.
what you have to do is hook up the freon,(but not open it) get the car running & hit the a/c button
then jump the switch (that means pull off the one connector on the dryer- it's got a connector that comes off easy about 2-3 in up the wire- and stick a paperclip so it completes the circut on the harness side, bypassing the switch) as soon as you jump the switch, have a friend open the can- you're incredibly low on freon & don' wanna blow your compressor by tryin to run it dry...
At this point i'd return the kit & have someone charge & vac down the system so it runs cleaner/better.
