my car has the CEL on right now.
does our car have a plug for a diagnostic reader (non consult)? the ones we can buy at autozone or pepboys.

if yes, where would that be located?

some nissan vehicles 95.5 and up are obd II compliant. if yours happens to be one of these the plug should be under your dash right under your steering wheel.

if not then you have a obd I car which requires a different method of trouble code identification.

 

If its obd 1 you can pull codes from the ECU in diagnostics mode.
