Intake Problem

I had a problem when i purchased and installed this cone intake filter to replace the air box. I thought that the filter would allow more air flow and cooler induction at the same time. But apparently that wasnt the case. I lost everything in i guess you would maybe say the powerband, all low and top end was gone this went on for about 3 months. Then i decided to replace my air box, the difference was night and day, increible difference i was happy when i replaced my air box, but i was still wondering why this happened?

What kind of intake did you buy? Was it just a cone filter or a whole system? and you said you replaced your airbox?.. Did you put your stock or buy a new stock?. I have an AEM short ram, and I am able to tell the difference in my high end.
