jerking stuttering/hesitiation when driving

96' 240 having problems stuttering dying when driving.

when driving the car hesitates/jerks when you give it gas. if let off of the gas pedal, rpms drop the car dies. when i star the car i have to give it a little gas, if i let off the pedal the car dies. black smoke/carbon deposit coming out from the muffler (running rich).

changed out rotor/spark plugs/fuel filter. the fuel pump comes on i can hear it. some say its the distributor or fuel pump. been working on this for 2 weeks now and i really need my car. any help appreciated!

check all your gas lines it could be your fuel pressure regulator or one of your injetors are clogged. check this things, i had an s13 do the same thing i replaced the f.p.r. and cleaned the fuil rail and injectors and it started up fine. good luck with it, let me know if you find the problem.

u should be able to pick up a haynes service manual at your local autoparts store, as far as your prob i agree with rivneo, it might be your throttle position sensor cuz u already looked over all the other possibilities that I could think of.
