Motor is overheating help???

Ok so i picked this car up a while back and the guages werent working but i fixed those. Now onto another problem overheating. When i got the car i was told it overheated because it had a blown head gasket. I figured that a compression test would tell for sure, so i did that and the numbers were about the same across the board 150-145 around that area (motor was a little cold). So i checked the thermostat and it is opening like it should, i flushed out the radiator and none of this has worked so far. So now im thinking it either really is a BHG or the radiator is bad. Anybody got any info that might help? tyhanks

did you bleed the coolant system?

there have been a few thread about this already i don't mean to sound rude but a simple search would have saved you the time spent waiting for an answer.

anyways read this thread and see if it helps.http://www.club240.com/forums/showth...hlight=heating

Did you bleed the system fully, no air bubbles. What about the waterpump? They tend to go bad 100kish, I replaced my recently as it was making a whining noise. Those number seem good to me as it was cold/numbers aren't far off from each other. Headgasket usually will cause white smoke out tail pipe. p.s. buy oem pump if u plan on keeping the engine otherwise local parts store.

Thanks for the input, yes i should have searched dont know why i didnt im not a noob ... Anyways i pulled out the thermostat to check it and it was fine but there was a bunch of cottage cheese looking chunks all in the water system. I put a water hose in the top and let it run out the bottom while the car was running and it all came out. Now the car runs fine, no more overheating. I thought this was pretty strange...
