alrighty i bought a battery less then 3 months ago and it keeps dying. i jumped it and did the alternator test by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and she ran fine. the only thing that's running when the car is off that i know of is the little clock on the dash. any ideas please i don't like driving my wifes car (cavalier).


background info on the problem. when my timing went out a month and a half ago i drained the battery trying to get it to crank. about 3 weeks ago i woke up went to the car and she was dead so i jumped her. last week i went out of town for 4 days came back and she had died.

i jumped her at like 4:30 went to eat and wal*mart came home and tried to start her at 8:30 and nothing at all. i got in the car and the dome light was on but barely like i had to look directly at the light to tell anything was going on. please some help would be awesome. i have no idea what to look for and i tried to search but came up with nothing.

i went out and looked at the ground wire and i saw something suspicious. in the middle of the wire their is a spot where the wire isn't insulated. but it's been like this since i bought it could that be it.

took the battery to advance to get it checked out and they gave me a new battery. i replaced the ground wire because it just didn't look good to me. well maybe this fixed it maybe not we'll see in a couple of days if she keeps runnin. thanks for all the input.
