HELP! Car Keeps Dying out --->
Its a 90 Auto and just today I changed out the spark plugs, spark plug cables, air filter and a new valve cover gasket. I also bought a fuel filter but havent put it in yet.
Anyway, once I was done I turned her on and died right away. I kept trying and the engine would turn on but only run for a sec or two then stall. I thought it might be a spark and fuel problem, but there is spark and fuel. Then I thought the problem could be the fuel pump. I decided to pull the fuel pump fuse so that I may trouble shoot without having to pull the pump. Once I did, the car would not even turn on so the pump seems to be ok.
I then checked the ECU ang got codes 12 MAF & 13 Coolant Temp Sensor. All the cables seem to be ok at the MAF but I was able to find some helpful info here in the forums about the MAF. Tomorrow I will try and clean out the MAF hoping that will solve the problem.
But what confuses me is that:
1. Shouldnt the car stay on during the open loop mode for the first minute, THEN die out due to the MAF not working properly?
2. Why would it throw out code 13 for the Temp. Sensor when the car was cold to begin with.
