well.... i was only able to get to the water pump today, got a bit lazy after that to mess with the P/S reservoir, so on with pics and captions...

sitting after two nights, and a top off on the P/S res... coolant and P/S fluid=FAIL....

two shots of where my coolant is leaking....

my two water pumps... good one off the old motor on the left, bad one off the new motor on the right.... grooves cleaned and all...

so as your water pump goes bad, coolant will leak out of this hole.... for your informationz... the hole directly on the bottom of the pump...

high temp RTV FTMFW!!!!

i put my thermostat back in, the one that came on the motor was stuck, so i sourced it off the old motor, and used a wire brush bit on my drill to clean the neck... and replaced the water pump... finished shot... not TOO TOO much excess RTV...

add the coolantz...

Bleed the coolantz....

this is just a neat shot, coilovers are sweet, no more jacking up one corner of the car at a time anymore lol... not a lot of suspension travel.... sorry, just now learning the joys of coils.... and yeah, i used TWO jackstands....

anyways, final result is awesome, my car idles a **** load better (probably due to a working thermostat keeping the engine @ operating temp), albeit @ 1,150rpm.... no more misses, skips, or sputters, not telling what it'll do @ 800rpm... but for now is good...

i took it for a little test spin, to see if she'd get hot (i was worried it would, cause i didn't really know the status of the old thermostat from the old motor)... the needle sat JUST above the C with a small gap and stayed there, never got higher, or lower, ran a bit smoother (i guess the coolant temp sensor wasn't reading cold all the time), and idled good....

next small thing to do is to figure out my P/S leak... easy....

video of good running motor, for all who're interested.... (for those who said it would never run right JOSH)

like always, more to come!!!!

i have no idea.... the flange on either one of the water pumps i have are slightly different, you can see if you scroll up and look, although the bolt patterns are exactly the same....

battosaii930.... i'll keep that S14 water pump in mine in case this one goes bad... you think a S15 pump is any different? shouldn't be....

see the difference from your s13 water pump how its flat and dosnt have much space behind the fins to the s14 how it has more space allowing for more water flow

very nice, i may "upgrade" before this one even has a chance to go bad....

anyways, So i got bored and decided to go ahead and pull the P/S reservoir off, and pics will explain the rest....

getting started.....res., bracket, and cap cleaned.... tunes on V Cast...

so think i MAY have found my leak....

'Rilla glue FTMFW....

i got a bad case of holeiosis...

clamped down, and setting.... not pictured but i got my ladys blow dryer on it right now... i don't have one of them fancy heat guns....

so that's all.... this should fix my problem, at least until i can source another reservoir..

thanks man, i know my "build" isn't as nice as a few others, as I'm not buying high end parts, replacing, etc etc.... but i do what i can with what i got right now.... the recession here in the states has hit me hard, been laid off for quite some time, and the job market in gainesville FL is non existent.... so I'm left with super gluing, and sourcing used parts...

i don't think I'm doing all that bad with this car, as i've only owned it for little over 2.5 months... and most of ya know what it was like when i first got it....

i've got one more little problem i'm going to have to address sooner or later thats a BIG job.... every once in a while i smell gear oil... i haven't checked yet but it's one of two things... it's either A. the lower boot slipped off... or B. when i did the KA>SR tranny conversion, i reused the stock old gasket on that little plate that covers the main shaft (input? output?) of the tranny... not thinking that that caps off the gear box to the bellhousing.... i don't even remember if i cleaned the mating surface either... so i think gear oil may be leaking from that, getting on my clutch and causing it to slip....

i had my buddy attempt to do burnouts on my street (yeah i know, don't tell me the moralities of that), and he couldn't get the rear end to break loose, even on 5-6k rpm launches... so lets hope that's not the case, as i'll have to drop the tranny...

if thats the case tho, then I'm just gonna pull the motor, tear off the accessories, and detail it, and rattle can the engine bay...

i hope i didn't make that mistake, but thats how i learn, by taking things apart, i remember the process, and do a reversal in my mind as I'm putting it back together.... i may not know all the technical terms for everything, but i understand the mechanicals...

geez i had alot to say.....

also around the shifter plate, is that leaking?

yeah, i made sure i used that... and as far as the shifter plate, it shouldn't be, cause i used RTV on it before i installed it.... i've yet to pull off the upper dust boot from the shifter to check to see if the lower boot may have for some reason slipped off... i'll probably check that a but later today...

also, if you don't have all of the components on the shifter such as the rubber cap and boot, the smell will seap through.
