the shell failed.... it was a kid selling it.... well a 20 y/o who still lives with his dad.... he told me at first, "sweet deal, i love tahoe 2drs, done deal!" and then i found out he had to ask his dad, and his dad said no more vehicles....

i wont be dealing with anyone who still lives with thier parents.... it makes me look like an ***, and gets my hopes up to crush em.... so i'm gonna wait it out...

okay, so my buddy Ryan AKA Clawhammer is the best dood in the world.... here's why...

as his car is getting torn down, and refreshed, he's going to let me borrow his Tuned ECU, his 550cc injectors (gonna swap the rails), and his Z32 maf....

with the tune he has, he's most like at OR above 330whp on his set up at around 17lbs boost... will be about the same as mine when i swap over his stuff onto mine....

so sweetsauce, i get to roll around with 340HP for a couple weeks as we work on his car!!! full reviews and install to come....

Nice!

So anyways, about borrowing his stuff.

You might blow your engine. No tune is the same for any 2 different cars.

If you did get it, you would have to re-tune it, but I doubt you will do that because he's going to be getting the stuff back.

Also, he must be running a T25 for having such small numbers for such high boost.

I'm at 12psi right now and making near the same numbers.

he has no idea right now what power he'd making, and his tune was used, he bought the ECU with the specs froma buddy of his, and just bought and installed all the parts it was tuned for.... his car does run rich though, as the tune on the ECU was a "safe" tune

here's his set up..... with engine system in mind, he has FAR more than this in his car....

S15 SR20DET Spec R turbo (at 17lbs if i remember correctly, maybe 18)
550cc injectors
Z32 Maf
Tuned ECU
GReddy suction kit, with all GReddy T28 Turbo elbows, and Airnix filter
GReddy FMIC, w/full GReddy piping
HKS SSQV BOV recirculated into GReddy suction kit
GReddy 3" catback (i think it's GReddy)
Walboro 255
SS bottom mount turbo mani

my set up... engine specific as well....

Pulsar GTIR T28 @ 13lbs, same in all respects as a S15 T28 but mine's journal bearing (mind you my turbo is custom built and smaller exhaust housing for faster spooling, polished and header port matched too lol!)
GReddy piping on 4" FMIC
GReddy Type S BOV
GReddy RAS
370cc's (stock)
walboro 255
Megan dump pipe
APEXi down pipe
APEXi 3" N1 cat back
APEXi Super Intake with elbow

he's got more

so basically all i should need to to is swap ECUs, injectors, and Z32 maf, tune my GReddy EBC to about 17lbs and RIP it.... right?

what ya think each of our est HP is? mine without the tuned ECU and ****, and an est. of it with the tuned ECU and ****...

You shouldn't use his ECU, injectors, or MAF

You probably have around 220whp.

If he is using the factory S15 turbo, then he has it passed it's limit and it's useless.
It's only good to 15psi. And he's on the track to blowing his engine if he isn't using an ECU tuned for HIS car. Also, that SS manifold is trash, hope the welds don't crack.

If he get's his car tuned to 15psi, I will say he's pushing maybe 300whp.

You drive on a tune for another car, and you "rip it" then you're guaranteed to blow your engine.

are you serious? i mean, i know there's differences from car to car... but i didn't know that tune was that specific.... i thought it was like replacing a OE ECU from car to car...

after hearing that i might just take a pass....

yea when it comes to tuning bro, every motor has its own identity things such as carbon build up, spark plug gap, grounds etc all affect your final tune.

yea stock ECu can be swaped from engine to engine because their stock tune can be considered a very safe tune

the tune on the ECU is supposed to be a very safe tune, and not "fine" tuned for a specific set up.... i think the previous guy "veebee" on NICO had it tuned for his upgrades, but never dialed in on a dyno..

this particular post is dedicated to Ryan, AKA Clawhammer...

so i got ryans 550CC's, SAFE tuned enthalpy ECU and Z32 maf... we took it for a spin, and HOLY ****.... this thing is fast, easily over 300WHP at 17lbs boost...car runs absolutly PERFECT!!!

it was insane... it brakes the tires SERIOUSLY loose when ya shift to 2nd and dump it... holy crap.... too bad i'm only gonna have this set up for a little under a month... but it gives me motivation to get the ball rolling on some SERIOUS power upgrades....

it also made me realize how bad my suspension/subframe is in the rear... it was all over the place... gotta tighten it all up...

pics...

instant gain of 100WHP

Z32 maf in, yet to wire it, with AIRNIX filter...

fuzzy pic, but wired in and ready to go....

550cc's of straight haul ***....

gotta get on the ball and get something like this set up for myself....

i'll see if i can get some in car footage of this beast... god, a 4 banger doing all this.....
