TANGENTIAL vs "ON-CENTER" turbo?? PLEASE HELP!!
ok.. here's a new question for you.. haven't been able to find this on either this forum or a few others i go on.. so here goes..
ok.. so i'm looking at buying a t3/t4 turbo.. and i'm just wondering. the turbo i'm looking at is a TANGENTIAL turbo not an "on center".. and i know that the difference is that (TANGENTIAL) the turbo is mounted almost directly on the manifold and (ON-CENTER) there is a 4 bolt housing inbetween the mani and the turbo.. is there anything wrong w/ a tangential? Should i stay away from them? are they prone to problems due to the heat or anything?
this is a GARRETT T3/T4 turbo w/ 600 miles on it and it's $600.

hi i think i answer this one. The only reason to get a "on-center" exhaust housing is for clearance issues. Certain manifolds have problem with the exhaust housing hitting the brake mc. The tangentical is a lot more efficent. Also that t3/t4 wat trim is it? and wat kind of wheel? i feel the best wheel is the "e" wheel. If there is no shaft play in the turbo then 600 sounds about right i guess. Maybe a lil cheaper like 450?
