hmmm, it seems some people just don't read. alright, whatever. don't bother researching or reading info coming straight from the NHTSB or US EPA. any motor u can cram into ur engine bay is perfectly, without a doubt, 100% 50 states legal. how's that sound? it's every bit as legal as 250 kilos of coke under ur hood...

LOL I love when I read the "49 state legal" part. As if "not legal in the state of California" is too much to type out.

Why couldn't the 50th state be... Alaska or something? I mean, who's gonna turbo a 240 in Alaska anyways? They should be driving 4WD Titans up there in all that snow.

JUST KIDDING Alaskans don't throw snowballs at me

Don't gotta go that far for snow.

Anyone have any resources as to what's legal in Canada (more specifically, Ontario), in terms of engine-swapping? I'll scour the boards and edit if I'm successful.

if your going to do a "street legal motor swap" talk to your local reff and ask them what they think, if they say cool then go for it, if not, wait a while and then speak to a different reff ;-) thats what i was going to do when i eventualy do my vq35de motor swap.. well.. im not doing it any more.. i dont wanna gain 700 pounds just so i can have like only twice as much power.. i realized almost 300hp and almost 300tq would suck on stock suspnsion.. so im going to climb my way out of debt and then fix my stupid car, and learn some more technique and then make a video for hyjynx like i promesed... i still havent gotten a good suspension yet hyjynx.. imma save up and get some jic magic that my friend jeremy has that he let me drive.. its soo freaking awesome..

Im in denial. This sucks. I want nothing more then to have an SR20DET swaped into my 240. I fantasize about it.(I know its freaky!) What kills me is I live in North Carolina. South carolina does not even require inspections on your car. Well some of the bigger cities like Fort Mill are just starting to require inspections.( I think Fort Mill) I live in Indian Trail, right outside of Charlotte (for those of you who have a clue where I'm talking about) and they just started requring inspections and all of that about 4 years ago. Some other counties in North Carolina (like Locust) still do not require these inspections. So I'm wondering if i would have as much of a problem doing this here in Indian Trail. I have givin' thought to changing resdince to a friends house in South Carolina and would probally be in the clear. But I don't know if thats a good idea. (the friends are the family of a ex girlfriend who is psyco, but her family is cool and they love me to death) I am getting close to my engine swap, I have not yet orderd the engine but im figuring in at least 2 months I should be ready, but now im not sure if getting the engine is a good idea. Maybe I should just switch to a Honda, they have some turbo cars.

No I'm kiddin', I would die before I went to Honda!!
