difficulty starting

occasionally my car won't start. the starter cranks but the engine won't catch. i have to push start it. It doesn't happen all the time. usually it happens if i cut the car off without turning the a/c off or the stereo off. even if i turn ignition on to turn those things off, if i leave it off for a few hours, it won't ignite.
I don't think its the starter because most of the time it starts up instantly. It only happens when i need to go home. Could it be my battery not holding enough charge by the time i start it back up? I tried searching but none of the other threads matched my problem.

could be the battery or the alt not charging the battery. most major parts stores will check both for free.

check for corrosion under the terminals...take them off and check the wires.

the battery was tested and its great. no corrosion on terminals. Ignition side is good. That just leaves fuel.
so I took it to our local shop to be checked. hopefully its something simple.

It usually does it if i turn the car off without turning off the A/C first. even if i turn the ignition back on and turn it off, if i let it sit for a few hours, it won't start.
