yea nick it would look like this with the sensor coming out of it.

this picture is from my R33 lsd swap.

ps

VLSD is good up until you need to overhaul it. if you don't plan on drifting hardcore with it, you will be fine.

haahah ****s and giggles

ok just to make sure it is ABS when u look at the diff close to the drive shaft does it have sensor with a wire coming out of it?

would be best if you can take a pic then i can confirm if its a ABS Diff or not
Ill get under there tommorow and take a few pics..that'll save me the headache... thanks...My mom..(here we go again, make fun of me! but ithink this is sick! haha)

my mom said shes gonna help me financially with the 5-speed swap, she said if i get it started, then shell give me her credit card and i can order whatever i need, and so far the only thing i cant find is the drive shaft. !

yeap.. also.. look in our fuse box, if you have an actually spot for an ABS fuse, that just proves even further it is abs.

If you can get your vin number.. put it into google and you will get the brake down of your trim level.... however with VLSD SE based, im sure its ABS.

240 abs sucks though im pretty sure u can get a stock open differential from a s13 pretty cheap and swap over the VLSD internals from yours then u can use a normal 5speed shaft

you don't have to run abs.. just disable it.. there is no need to change hardware. the only reason i swapped my pumpkin was... it was already backlashed. all i did was get the tail end of a non-abs drive shaft to make up the distance.

One more thing for tommorow, if i get it running im gonna put her in the garage.
not to rewind the thread or anything but....

of the 3 forums i am a member of, this one is BY FAR the least flameful/judgemental. some people just like to give opinions, don't worry about it dude, like i always say, at the end of the day, it will always be YOUR CAR, so do what you like. as far as the paint thing goes, i bought my s14 wrecked/salvaged so after inspecting everything myself it needed the frame bent back to stock, a hood and fender and bumper, new brakes, and new tires. once everything was in tip top shape i am usually a "function over form guy" meaning performance parts first. however, my car was three different colors because of the used body parts i got, so i figured i better sand and paint first so i did. now everywhere i go EVERYONE tells me they love the color of my car, and lots of local 240 peeps tell me they want to paint theirs the same color

anyways sorry for the long explanation, moral of the story is as long as everything on your car is in good/working shape do whatever the hell you want

p.s. let me know how the 5spd swap goes, as i am lookin into picking up a shell that is an auto for the KA i am rebuilding and will obviously do the 5spd swap on it

p.s.s. your ride has the vlsd? i am jealous, i have been shopping around for a s14 vlsd and can't find one
